I don’t have words to express the precious time we got to spend as a family, and the wonderful experiences of the Amazon River with this company. Our tour guide, Mr Yuris, and the entire crew worked hard to make this a memorable holiday for us.

The 14-day trip from Manaus to Barcelos and Daracuá was amazing. The ship owner-Captain was an amazing guide, knowledgeable on the Río Negro tributaries, fluent in English and Portuguese.

I went on a trip up the Rio Negro on the DORINHA with a group called Project Piaba. Most of the group were strangers to each other at the beginning of our two week trip but the great welcome from our guide Mo and his crew and the layout of the boat helped us all to gel and get to know each other.

The boats are clean, maintained, and staffed with helpful and courteous crew. The guides go to great lengths to ensure that personalized tours and activities are engaging, entertaining, enjoyable and safe.

I just returned from a magical boat trip on the Rio Negro with Amazonia Expeditions. The english speaking Brazilian owner is a second generation tour operator and his experience shows.

All guides are professionally trained and certified in wilderness first aid, while lodge staff are trained in emergency response and AED use. Their boats are regularly inspected by the Peruvian Coast Guard, operated by licensed boat drivers and equipped with properly sized life jackets. Guests also have access to a nearby Level 1 hospital, with emergency evacuation to Iquitos possible by boat when necessary.
